Welcome home to the AFPPA!
On behalf of the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, I would like to welcome you to our website and I invite you to explore the site and learn everything you can about our organization. I am so proud to be serving as the 2010-11 president! I am also pleased that so many PAs have chosen to “come home” to the AFPPA. Ours is the only organization exclusively representing primary care PAs. We also have outstanding membership benefits, like conference registration discounts and student scholarships. Plus, we’re now serving over 1,500 attendees at our educational events. There’s so much we can do together.
The AFPPA offers unparalleled peer-to-peer CME in small group settings, at three annual conferences each year, in exciting and diverse locations across the country. Nowhere else can you find CME for PAs, taught by PAs, with a curriculum that is specifically designed for primary care physician assistants.
You could settle for a conference with large crowds, long lines, and impersonal lectures or you can enjoy AFPPA’s three annual conferences at small resort type settings and family-friendly destinations. And, there’s a good chance there will be an AFPPA conference within a day’s drive of where you live in the next few months. Some of our past and future conference locations include Orlando, San Diego, Washington DC, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Monterey, Charleston, New Orleans, San Antonio, and Las Vegas.
If you’re like me, you want to be part of an organization that promises real professional growth. AFPPA makes that promise, and backs it up. Really. If you’re not satisfied with your membership at the end of 12 months, we’ll refund your money! For just $120/year, ($.33 day), AFPPA members enjoy exclusive member benefits including: discounted registration at AFPPA's annual CME conferences; employment, networking and leadership opportunities; PA student scholarships; AFPPA’s quarterly newsletter; our official journal; and members-only Web access at afppa.org.
Whether you are practicing in family/general practice, internal/general medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, occupational medicine, or a related area, we invite you to join us.
Whether you’re just learning about AFPPA or have been with us for many years, I’m excited about welcoming you home to the AFPPA this year. I hope to see you at an upcoming conference!
With Warmest Regards,
Dana Motika, RN, MPA, PA-C AFPPA 2010-11 President
