The Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants offers scholarship awards to physician assistants who are returning to school in order to pursue a master’s degree. Five hundred dollars is award annually to two deserving graduate students.

You must be a member of AFPPA in good standing, currently employed in primary care and in good academic standing. Preference is given to longstanding AFPPA members, as well as those who have demonstrated professional leadership and participate in community service.

To apply for the AFPPA Master’s Degree Scholarship, you must complete the following steps:

• Submit an essay (750 words or less) that describes your commitment to primary care medicine. You must outline your current and past community involvement that demonstrates this commitment. Additionally, describe your efforts to support and promote the PA profession. Include why you are pursuing a master’s degree
• Complete the registration form (found below), and forward all information to a faculty member. The faculty member must then complete the faculty form and submit all information (registration form, statement and faculty form) from an official school e-mail address. ONLY COMPLETE E-MAIL APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED
• Your application is scored based on your essay and faculty recommendation.
